SAT Thought and Mock Exam

This workshop helps students understand the thought process behind the SAT and shift their mindset about the steps needed to succeed. Modeling how a mindset shift can change students' perspective is a strong foundational step for the ongoing mentorship of the school's college counseling staff. If desired, this can include a proctored mock exam as a follow-up.

Your Next Three Months

This workshop will address what your next 90 days should look like to get on track and stay ahead. We will talk about the larger timeline, as well as actionable items to ensure you're able to walk away with a plan.

Below the Tip of the Iceberg: Identity and Personal Narrative

This workshop gives students the language and space they need to talk about identity. Throughout the workshop, students will explore different facets of identity, how identity shapes perceptions of the world, what their identity means to them, and more.

The Whole Story: Writing Impactful College Essays

This interactive workshop will teach students the secret to writing impactful, authentic college essays. If desired, we can add a follow-up to this session to have students actually write drafts and have them reviewed and edited by a member of the CollegeThoughts team.

Show Me the Money!

This workshop will address financial aid, how the process of applying is changing this year, and what students can do to search for resources to make college more affordable.

The Value of One Seat

This workshop talks about what it takes for applicants to stand out from among their peers. Students will be prepared to use what they have learned to chase the schools of their dreams.

Discover Learning Style

Discover Learning Style is the first step in a learner's academic leadership journey. In this workshop, students will discover their learning style, reflect on their study habits, and explore the study cycle to better understand their academic strengths and weaknesses and plan for the years ahead.

S.M.A.R.T. Goal-Setting

S.M.A.R.T. Goal-Setting is a crash course in creating achievable goals that still push students toward higher levels of success. In this workshop, students will learn the difference between a "fixed" and a "growth" mindset as well as explore what makes a goal specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and trackable (S.M.A.R.T.).

The Art of Learning

Closing out this year's series, The Art of Learning guides students through a metacognitive process of reflecting on their study habits and overall approach to learning. In this workshop, students will critically examine their learning routines and be introduced to a few effective strategies for note-taking and studying that will help them approach learning in a way that feels more directed and purposeful.
